B/B English 9H
A/B Bio H>>A/A Bio AP this year
A/B Chemistry H>>A+/A+ Chemistry AP last year

Also applying to Yale, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Wharton (U Penn), Harvey Mudd, Columbia, Brown

Thanks!

Strong candidate for all the schools you listed. However, as you probably know, admission at these tier schools is unpredictable, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into at least 1 or 2 of those schools. Good luck.

Also, 3.9 UW is NOT a weakness, regardless of the other components of your app.

Also, for Stanford and Princeton, they don’t look at freshman year grades, so in their eyes, you have a 4.0 UW.

And, make sure you submit your research abstracts to the schools you’re applying to- it’ll help.

So really your good enough for any of these schools. Your stats and EC are fabulous. I cant realy chance you, since there soooo unpredictable. I also noticed you are applying to all Ivies or top tier schools. Have you considered UC’s or any other safeties?

make sure your passion for science and math shines through your essays.
Then you’d have a very good shot towards Caltech

Yea UCSB, UCSD, UCLA, and Berkeley. I will be applying to Caltech and MIT early action so those decisions will probably affect where I will apply to as well. My sister also told me that it helps to have a sibling at another college if they have a good reputation. Is that true? (She’s at Yale)

I would suggest that any wanting to find their chances for CalTech first read these two wonderful posts

Having a sibling at Yale may help you with admissions to Yale, but will have no bearing on your applications to Caltech. Caltech will evaluate you on your OWN merit, and on your OWN demonstratived drive and passions for science. Caltech is less influenced by any outside factors (race, legacy, athletics, etc) than most ANY other college, and looks at the students commitment to driving scientific exploration further and further.

Sorry, should have been more specific. I meant if I apply to a college a sibling is or was at. Thanks all for their thoughts!

Remarkable app, as always you can’t possibly be guaranteed admission. I would say you definitely have a chance for a few of the schools you apply. Good luck!

I believe that you shouldn’t apply to any safeties besides Berkeley and possibly UCLA. You have solid ECs and test scores. Your stats are far “better” than mine and I was accepted (also to Yale if you care). Actually, you probably have better stats than about 80% of the people I know who were accepted. Write good essays and get great teacher recommendation letters and I’m sure you have a shot at every school (a very good shot).

The people I know who were like you were accepted everywhere (HYPSM). Even though there is a belief that schools are a “crapshoot,” there are things that indicate successful admission and you will probably be admitted into many schools (provided that your recommendations/essays/interviews go decently).

Why drag up a year old chance thread?
