<p>Overall you seem like a decent candidate considering you are URM. However, admissions to top schools like Duke are much more holistic and consider more than just grades and SAT scores. Your ECs, essays, and recommendations also matter.</p>

<p>You have a great chance if your ECs are strong. Internship would certainly get you in.</p>
<p>Also, essays make a bigger factor than you think. Do good on those! </p>
<p>If you can push that SAT score to 2000 it’ll be great. Your rank is awesome tho.

<p>I actually believe that SAT score will significantly hurt you, despite the fact that you are a URM. These top schools get more and more qualified URM applicants, and a 1900 is very significantly below the 25th percentile for duke. Whether you are admitted or not will probably rely on the subjective factors, although that SAT can really hold you back.</p>

I believe I have fairly strong essays and letters of recommendation along with a couple of leadership positions in my high school. As for the SAT, we will see next Saturday. I am also a first gen immigrant, but i dont think it really matters</p>
