I know that the average ACT scores for those accepted into Ivys is around 29 or 30 - the almighty 36. But I'm also assuming kids with a 29 had some other catch to get into those schools.

Do those of us with low 30s stand a chance against the high 30s at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc?

is the reason also that ivies have to accept people from an equal distribution around the nation, so they have to accept applicants with lower scores in the midwest, etc.

You can get into any Ivy League school with decent test scores simple because the admissions officers look at your entire application. The entire admissions procedure is a crap-shoot. No matter how much you think that you can get into a school, that you are set to get into a school, there is always that possibility that you might not get in.

Even a low 30s score is still respectable on the ACT. I'd say that a 31 should be enough if the applicant is strong in the other areas such as extracurriculars, character, essays, etc.

i mean i know sat/act scores are extremely imporantat but its not the end of the world if u dont get close to pefect scores. my parents have been stressing on me that if i dont get my 1330 up to at 1400+ or my 30 to a 32+, i cant get into any schools. but u gotat be wellrounded

it is a fact that this year, harvard REJECTED half of its 2400s that it received

Harvard rejected half of the 2400s that it received. That means a randomly selected Harvard applicant with a 2400 had a 50% chance of admission, which is like 500% greater than the the average Harvard applicant.
