Good enough for MIT?

right, my combined highest SAT I score is 2150
I'm hoping for 750+ scores in chemistry, math lvl 1 and 2, and a 5 in AP Chem and APUSH...taking AP Calc AB, AP Physics B, and AP English Lit next year
plus, I might be representing Puerto Rico in the International Physics Olympiad and I was first in state in the AMC 12...
how do you recken my chances are for MIT in 2009?

looking good, but you ll need to post a more detailed list of ECs, subjects, awards, etc for a better evaluation. I would say that 2150 is satisfactory, but if you can move it over 2200, then it would REALLY boost your chances. MIT considers any scores near 2250 just as highly as perfect scores.

Good Luck
(shoot me a pm, if u have any other queries about MIT)
PS: If you are good at Maths, don't take both MATHS SATII (subject) tests.

MIT is a high reach for most everybody, even with impressive credentials. you could also go for a higher SAT. Good luck.

also, in terms of SAT scores, the best place for reference is their website. I know my class (2012) has a median of 780 for maths and 720 for critical reading. This doesnt mean that people with lower scores don't get accepted ( i know many that have) but its just a good guideline. :)
You should really read MIT Admissions and have a look at what they look for in applicants.

And remember, no matter how good you are at math and science, you need more than just math skillz (yeah haha with a z) to get into MIT.

heres a more comprehensive information on my credentials:

Best SAT scores: Math: 780, Writing: 680, Reading:700 (1480/2160...essay score was 10)

SAT II: taking on June 7, taking Math lvl 1 and Chemistry (btw...if I want, can i change the subject test i want to take on the test day? cuz i want to change to lvl 2)

APs: Waiting for Chemistry and USHistory scores, think I managed a 5 and 4 respectively...taking AP Calc AB, AP BritLit, AP Physics B...I would have had more APs including Calc BC for next year but since I switched mid-year from Ireland I didn't take any in 10th grade

GPA: 4.3 (constantly 98-99ish)Weighted...school doesn't calculate unweighted

AMC 12 first in state, invited to AIME...invited to Puerto Rico Math Olympiad, but could not attend
in running for the International Physics Olympiad this summer and going to go for the International Math Olympiad next year through Puerto Rico

ECs:
-Active member of National Honors Society...I was an officer for a project in my school for Invisible Children...the event raised over 35,000$...I'm leading a project next year involving tutoring underprivileged children...over 6 months in the society I have collected about a 100 hours of community service.
-Involved in Science Club(organized a fund raiser), Art Club and Math Club
-I'm on the school tennis team...and played in the All-Ireland Badminton Championships in 9th grade

I'm an international student, and have lived in India, Ireland, and right now am in Puerto Rico...although I'm not sure if its a good or a bad thing...
Don't need financial aid so I guess that helps a bit...

so chances for MIT?
