i just got my TOEFL score from october.
i know most part but today i found my writing score as well.
i probably missed only 1 or 2 questions each section.
i got 280 and 5 on an essay.

i am using TOEFL instead of SAT(since my verbal score sucked)
to apply the top engineering school.

is that good enough? (i've lived in the states for 4 yr. T_T)

give me an advice. should i retake it on dec?
thanks in advance.

If you live in the states, take the SATs. They're a lot more genuine.
and your TOEFL scores are great + they don't care how high ur TOEFL scores are, just if you passed or not.

well. i did take SAT and i got a mere 500 on SAT verbal. and i didnt have time to retake before Early admission, therefore i just decided to use TOEFL. (They had the non-native speaker option which i can use TOEFL score instead of SAT)
do you think 500 SAT Verbal is better??

well.. so.. .. it's kinda lame but do you think it's better to retake and get 290~300 or whatever(i thinki can.. if i have a good day:) ??

ipsen. are u in the state? ifso, how long?
well maybe you are more of a writing person than a hearing person :)
(i am not a writing person at all T_T.. oh.. btw is that 5.5 out of 6???)

I am not from an English speaking country. I study here in England for nearly 2 years. And it was just one week before the exam that I started listening to VOA.

I hope they do count my background :( <max for="" twe="" is="" 6.0=""></max>

If you live in US for more than 2 years, you must take the SAT. Seriously, it would be a huge disadvantage if you don't do so. By the way, what school do you apply to? Most schools require both SAT and TOEFL from internationals.
