my dad took the toefu in china...off by one to a perfect score...second highest in china
on that alone... b/.c he was too poor to pay for appilcation fees, he sent this score with self syudy grades...(his college time in china was when china was screwed uop and universities closed) got him a full ride to SIUE
not bad considereing he didn't even send the appliction fee

anyone please

I heard that,if you are aiming for the Ivies, your TOEFL score will not carry much weight. Your SAT verbal score will matter the most. Anyways, there are many ESL students who score very highly on the verbal section of the SAT.
I recommend focusing on raising your SAT score. As long as you meet the minimum TOEFL score for each school (which is usually around the 250s), it will not matter much.

i read that if you score 700+ on either verbal(CR) or writing, you are not required to take toefl

where did you read that?

i read that i think on Cornell's website

i've heard that as well
my cousin got yale without giving the TOEFL and with a verbal score of 730

Hmm then I think I dont take the Toefl after all, It's very expensive-->130 dollar...
I think I got CR 750+ this June SAT
