good essay > bad Ecs ??

my ECs:
dance- 13yrs
Earth club- 3yrs-VP
Student Council-1 yr
various volunteering things, nothing major : science camp counselor (volunteer), science center volunteer
research intern @ ucla - 1 summer

My question: does a badass essay make up for lackluster ECs?
i am pouring my efforts into writing the.best.essay.ever. (or at least i will be once EA apps are done). During my high school career I have focused more on academics than anything else; its what i love. Does my lack of any sort of national title in math/piano/debate/writing/etc heavily impact my attractiveness to harvard admissions?

i have the same problem as u. My EC’s are crap, but i’m trying to make up for it by writing superb essays so i can get into UoC. Good luck

I certainly believe that the essay is more important. It portrays your personality the most, far more than ECs.

im glad to see im not the only one.
good luck with chicago. i am currently procrastinating so i don’t have to write my why chicago essay…
