I'm going to be a senior this year and have thus started to think more seriously about colleges I hope to apply to. I hope to major in international relations and apart from the obvious Georgetown, Tufts etc., I wanted to apply to at least one European school which offers this major.

St. Andrews def. isn’t as prestigious as LSE, but it’s still an awesome place to go. The architecture, society, and all that combined make it a great “educational” experience.

St. Andrews has a rich history as well.

Other places, Oxford, Cambridge if you’re trying to get to the higher ups. King’s College in the UK is also really awesome.

The Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris is also pretty good I hear.

Edinburghs a good one as well; in the UK it’s rated about as good as St Andrews; but neither are as good as LSE. I wouldn’t apply to St Andrews though; i doubt any of these people have been but i have, i applied there last year and when i visited i decided that it’s just too small. It has no nightclubs and just a few pubs; the town is basically 3 streets with expensive shops and old castles and uni buildings. Just don’t apply there without visiting first cause the number of people who drop out after not visiting before they go to uni there is pretty high.

If you are interested in Politics and IR degree courses then Warwick is very good; it’s up there with LSE in english rankings and english employers like the uni. King’s is ok; about the same par with St Andrews and Edinburgh.
