Good eye places?

Does anybody have a general list of places known for eye research, placing students into good ophtho residencies, as well as opportunities nearby for eye-related activities?

I’m guessing JHU undergrad & med school for several reasons:

Both undergrad/med school are well-known and such

Baltimore is full of crime so you will probably get more experience in the hospital LOL

During the summer, you can intern at various federal institutions mostly around Bethesda (e.g., NIH, biotech companies) with obviously some transportation issues (except for me since I currently live near Bethesda).

JHU’s ophtho residency is ranked very highly

Undergrad and med schools would be appreciated.

Again, I’m focusing solely on the career path to an ophthalmologist, not the atmosphere (e.g. bad weather or uber-competitive).

what?

please tell me your not choosing your UNDERGRAD based on a highly ranked ophtho residency.....

to tell you the truth, any teaching hospital will prolly have SOME kind of ophtho research, but don't do this to yourself. if you really like JHU, then go there for undergrad, but don't just base it on the research.

No, I just mixed up the criteria for undergrad and med school. Everything else applies to both.
