good first practice score?

i took my first practice ACT, and before taking it i knew nothing about the act or its format so i took it blind to what was in the test. As a result i was scrambling for time in the science and reading section. As a result i scored a 22 in the reading, and 31 in science, 32 in math, and 25 in writing, so overall a 28. i know i can bring my science easily to a 35 because i found that section very easy i just wasn't watching the clock so for the last 4 "sections" i did not have time to read any of the passage and just skim the graphs. Same for the reading i spent most of my time on the first passage not realizing how much time i wasted and reading is one of my better subjects on the sat. so overall i am wondering is the a good score for not even knowing anything about the test?

Well, it’s definitely something to work upwards from, so (as you obviously know) by practicing timing, format, questions… etc., you should at least be able to raise it 3 points.

Find the strategy that is right for you in the reading section and practice it a couple of times. I tried a strategy for the first time and received a low score. Then I decided just to read and answer questions and raised my score by 10 points.

thought it would be interesting to compare what i actually got after only 3 practice tests.

1st practice –> april 10th test
W: 25 ----------->W: 34
M: 32 ----------->M: 35
R: 22 ----------->R: 35
S: 31 ----------->S: 33
C: 28 ----------->C: 34

looking at these i think shows that a little practice can go a long way. a 13 point increase in reading! so everybody out there who got a 28, you can still easily get a 34 considering how little work i put in compared to some people.
