I’ve realized that I’d like to apply to a few other business schools that would be good targets/reaches. Not too sure on the specific area in business yet. I’m thinking finance or something that is more organized and structured. My main concern with finance is that I am not the strongest math student. Granted, my high school is infamous for a difficult curriculum, but math is the only class I have ever gotten Bs in, and I almost consistently get them. Not sure if that affects my admission chances significantly or not. I’m looking for some other school recommendations. I would prefer to live in either NY or LA eventually, the latter being my preference. Ideally, schools that don’t require subject tests.
Stats if they help at all: ACT: 35 (E:36 M:34 R:35 S:34) GPA: UW:3.88 W:4.84 I’ll also mention that I have some awards from DECA including one from internationals.
I’ve already applied and been accepted to:
Indiana Kelley
Minnesota (Safety)
Waiting on:
Michigan
USC
NYU
UT Austin
Penn
Berkley
In business school, the math used is not difficult compared to the high school math (which I am assuming is calculus). Also, BTW, Berkeley Haas accepts only junior status (applicants from Berkeley or community college transfers). You cannot apply as a freshman.
Hm. That’s good to hear. I’m currently taking the AB-BC Calc class at my school. And yes when I applied to Berkley I applied to the College of Letters and Science following the instructions for those who are interested in applying for Haas eventually.
Look into SMU I’m here lots of crossover with Ut Austin and USC as far as applicants go. Also, the program is extremely solid and the school has been the best decision I’ve made
Finance can be math heavy or not, it depends on the program. Some programs want you to take business calculus and statistics which are watered down versions of the real thing. Some more rigorous finance programs want you to take the same statistics/calculus that math/science majors take. If you’re bad at math I suggest maybe skipping those.
