Good food you've eaten at Bama and off-campus

Archibald’s in Northport
Mike & Ed’s BBQ on 15th Street
City Cafe in Northport
15th Street Diner on 15th Street.

^^^

What did you like at each place?

Archibalds: The only thing on the menu is ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Both of which are delicious.
Mike & Ed’s: Not exactly sure what it is called but 5.99 and is a cut up hot dog and bun with chili poured on it and oyster crackers, cole slaw, and pickles. Sounds a little strange but it is a lot of food for the price. They also have delicious pies.
City Cafe: Has something like a one meat and three vegetables for six dollars or something like that.
15th Street Diner: A little pricey. Have a good bacon cheeseburger. Have a full menu hough and there is a lot of selection.
Sorry for any inaccuracy or excessive broadness this was all from memory and have not been to these places in months.

I’ll have to try Archibalds. When I visited MSU, there is a “famous” BBQ place there that had “the best” pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. They also put cole slaw on them, which sounded odd, but was very good!

I say “famous” because they have pics on the wall of famous people eating there. I guess it’s known for its BBQ.

archibalds only claim to fame that i know of is being on the “Taste of the Town” segment of College Football Countdown at one of the Alabama games.

I love Archibalds. I usually just get a couple pounds of the pulled pork and then stop at the grocery store that sits across McFarland and pick up some buns, cole slaw, and beer. I then commit one of the 7 deadly sins (gluttony) when I get back to my hotel room :-)

Dreamland is fabulous, but overpriced.
Depalmas can literally be listed as one of the reasons I came to Bama. Their calzones are THAT good.
Mugshots - great burgers
Mellow Mushroom - pizzaaaaaaa
Baumhower’s -wings are great
YOGURT MOUNTAIN!!! I make a weekly pilgrimage to this mecca of dairy. It is AMAZING!!!

Mesquite_girl24: It’s Dead Week at Alabama. The CBH kids are working minute by minute on their final projects. Got a feeling that there will be more than one trip to Yogurt Mountain this week!

Oh we shall, we shall. Midnight trips from Nott shall be in order.

Chinese: Swen on the Strip. They also have a less crowded location in Northport by the Civic Center

Japanese: Ichiban by the bowling alley on 15th Street. It’s less pricey than Bento, Hokkaido, and Kobe.

Thai: I love both Surin and Ruan Thai. I’m surprise that they manage to compete with each other being right next to each other.

BBQ: I like Dreamland’s northport location (full menu), Full Moon, and Archibald and Woodrow’s. A&W is related to but not the same as Archibald’s. They’re close temporarily due to some legal issues, but should be re-opening soon in on MLK Jr Blvd.

I also enjoy Buffalo Wild Wings on McFarland next to Red Lobster. I love their selection of sauces!

Also, need to add the Waysider if it hasn’t been mentioned here already. Their breakfast is pretty good.
