on the psat i got a 660 critical reading, 550 math, and a 650 in writing
this was without taking any courses or preparation
what do you a think a good goal for the sat in may is if i take a course and get a tutor in between now and then?

If you did so without preparation i think if you prepare well…
750-800 Writing (depends on preparation. There are 5-6 types of errors that you have to learn to spot.Thats it’')
720-760 CR (Just memorize some vocabulary from both volumes of Direct Hits and memorize the words from the PRactice tests you don`t know)
Math.Well math…it is not about preparation. If you got only 550 without preparation i assume it is not your best subject.Still with a lot of practice you may pull a 700.
Good luck;]

I would say a reasonable target would be:

700 CR, 650 M, 700 Writing.

^i think you’re lowballing him a little bit… It really depends on how much time you have and are willing to put into preparation, but I’d give you:

700 CR, 700M, 730 W

Study now and you wont be trying so hard when there are 14 days left to the SAT . Like me. Thats what happens when you prep from PR and Kaplan. By the time you learn they are a fake , its over

You guys are underestimating him. I got a 1730 on the PSAT. 2050 on the SAT

for CR just memorize vocab.
for math, practice, make sure you know how to do everything.
for writing, again, learn to spot errors and use the full 2 pages of your essay.

guarantee 2000+

Can you really improve that much? I haven’t taken either, but this is encouraging.

Yes Hawaiiboy15 definitely its possible. I have seen somewhere in this forum people go from 1990-2300 s . Practice is key.
