Good Honors Program in Oregon or Washington Colleges for student interested in science and art

Hello!
DD is interested in some sort of “meld” between science and art - likely science major - maybe engineering - maybe art… She is currently evaluating Oregon and Washington schools. I saw an old post that the Clark program at UO is NOT recommended for science/art majors, and it wasn’t very positive. Added coursework instead of less - don’t transfer if you want to leave the honors program, etc. However, the post was old.

Does anyone have any suggestions for honors programs in this area for this student?? Thanks so much!!!

Western Washington has a very competitive industrial engineering program, which combines engineering and design.
They also have art and design departments and an honors program. Pure sciences are ok, but the departments are smaller than you would find at a larger university. The school of education is very big at Western so a number of science students are there training to be science teachers rather than planning to go into research.

Wow - didn’t have that one on my radar! Thank you!!!
