I have decided to work over the summer instead of doing research (there arent a lot of research opportunities near my home so I will be researching throughout the year). What are some jobs I can apply for as a premed? I want med schools to believe I actually did something this summer..

Teach MCAT for Kaplan or Princeton Review.

I'm a freshman =\ ( I dont think I can do well on the MCAT yet alone teach it at this point).

Go to a community college, get the certification to work as a LPN.

-> I believe you have to have a 32/33 minimum before you are considered to teach for a review program.

A nursing certificate? Can you even do that over one summer? In any case it's probably not a good idea, since the training will likely take more time than you actually get to spend doing anything. Look for volunteer opportunities in a hospital.

He was looking for a job so I assumed he needed a job, and LPN would be paying and he would get some clinical experience. Also an ER tech is a good job too (once you get the certification). But if he doesn't need the money, I love volunteering/shadowing in the ER. I get see so much because the doctors have gotten to know me over my time their.

well I plan on volunteering and shadowing during the afternoons and it would be nice to work full time during the day (lets say from 8 to 4, etc) and make some money (though money is not really a priority).

you could work at Best Buy or something?

haha, I already applied there like a few hours ago :D Good call.

Anyways, I'm going to read up on ED Tech cause it sounds very interesting. Does anyone have any info on it? Whats the certification process, etc.

Education Overview for Emergency Room Technicians:

Education requirements for emergency room technicians vary depending on state regulations. Most hospitals require emergency room technicians to become certified. In order to become certified, students must complete a medical assistant program. Some students have to complete a certified nursing assistant program if they are going to be directly under the supervision of a nurse.
