Good Junior Year Schedule?

My Junior Year Schedule is:

Ap Chemistry (Notoriously Hard in our school)
Ap Statistics
Ap Language and Composition
Ap Computer Science
Spanish 4 Honors
US history

Should I replace US history with APUSH? Or should i skip spanish 4 to go to AP Spanish? Or is my schedule fine as it is?

Your schedule is fine as it is.
It’s definitely get the 'most rigorous ’ designation and adding to it wouldn’t modify this.

How far are you in math?

I took Calculus BC as a sophomore

OK then you should try to take a more rigorous class for math - AP stats is for good students who can’t/won’t take calculus. Or take DE calculus -based statistics. You could take multivariate calculus, linear algebra, and/ or discrete math, too.

I agree with MYOS. You don’t want to go two years without taking any math and then pick it up again in college. At least get through multivariable.

At my school, most of the students take AP stats after AP Calc Bc, and this is what the counselors recommend. After ap stats, i plan to take multivariable calculus. Is this a bad idea?

Well, AP stats is an easy math class for students who are strong academically but not at math. Considering how advanced you are, I don’t think that’s an appropriate choice. At the very least take calculus -based statistics at a community college (if it’s possible) but if they offer mv at your hs, why don’t you take it?

I would not recommend a year off between AP Calc and your next calculus based math class (not ap stats)

I agree with those saying to take something other than AP stats. At my school, it doesn’t even count as a core math credit. You can use it as an opportunity to specialize, too- try & see if you can find a math that’ll help out with your major. My friend loves coding and found a math at a local college that’ll help out with that.

Re: Spanish

What does your Spanish 3 teacher recommend that you take next?

Re: US history

Perhaps you can find out how much more work the AP course is compared to the regular course.

Re: math

Is there the option to take calculus-based statistics or some other more advanced math course at a local college, assuming that you are interested in studying more math or a math-based major in college?

Re: CS

Is the AP CS course the “A” course or the “principles” course? The “principles” course may be a better general introduction to what CS is about (though it is unlikely to be worth any subject credit in college); the “A” course is mostly a programming and data structures course.

Thanks guys, I talked to the counselor and she didn’t allow me to take another math class (besides AP stats) during school, so I am probably going to take Multivariable Calculus at the local community college.

My Spanish 3 teacher said either was fine, but is 5 aps too many?

By the way, my intended major is chemical engineering with a biochemical specialization

Thanks!

If AP Spanish is considered level 5 at your school, then it may seem odd to skip level 4. Or is it just a slightly harder or more advanced version of level 4?

Make sure that you get some kind of physics into your high school schedule before you graduate.

@ucbalumnus there is no absolutely no way i could take any other math course other than AP Stats. I’m just thinking whether taking apush is really going to be worth it for a chem e major.

You’re fine with us history. Your schedule is very demanding and no one I’ll fault you for not taking apush. It will not be expected at all.
Math and physics on the other hand, will.

I will try to take multivariable calculus at the community college. I am for sure taking AP physics c my senior year.
