I'm making a trip to the east coast (new england) and was wondering what top liberal arts colleges have a strong science background (I'm pursuing medicine) , if any?

Take the top 50, circle those which are in New England, and throw darts. They are all just fine. For the most part, similar faculty, relatively similar students. Good advising. And if you can get into any of them (and aren't weeded out in the process of your four years), you will get into med school, and will be able to go if you can pay for it.

Alright, thanks! :) I wasn't too sure if there were any that were particularly good or bad, so I was just planning to go to ones that caught my eye. I figure that will be ok then.

Yup. The similarities (for pre-med) will be greater than the differences. The cultural and geographic and athletic (and alcohol-related) differences will be greater than the pre-med sciences. Occasionally, one or the other will have a particular prof or department that is a stand-out (like Williams, say, for astrophysics, or Steven Williams' genomics lab at Smith, and I'm sure there are plenty of others), but they'll all be just fine.

Amherst, Williams, Bowdoin, Holy Cross, and Colby would be some of New England's better known LAC's.
