As one of last year's ED applicants, I know exactly how it is to wait and that weird feeling you get everytime you open the screen. My letter actually came before they went online- and I was rejected.

If you get in, wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. You will have a great time at Dartmouth. You have a lot to be proud of, and you've got a great stress-free year ahead of you. Congratulations :).

If you get deferred or rejected, it really will be ok. You WILL find a school that you can settle for, and chances are that after you've spent some time there, it won't feel so much like settling. It's not fun, it does hurt, but it won't ruin your life. I promise. Keep your chin up, and get to work on your other applications.

Best of luck to all of you, and no matter what happens, keep your heads high. I'll be thinking of you guys.

How quickly a year goes by. I remember last year that you were the epitome of grace through out the entire ED/RD process. I hope you are having a great time at Wellesley, and that this has been a great first term. wishing you and yours a blessed holiday season.

As you wait out the next 24+ hours keep in mind that no matter what the outcome, you are all very likely to end up as some really great addtions to the class of 2010 in a variety of really great colleges.

Here's to hoping that we can have one big shredding party where we can tear up all of those RD applications that have been so diligently prepared.

wishing you all the best.

P.S. to the 9's now that finals are wrapping up I hope that you have had a great first term.

Thanks to all of you that have wished all of the ED-rs good luck. My D has been on pins and needles for weeks. So I hope that she calms down before tomorrow or we are gonna have to medicate her. NOT REALLY. Good luck to all I hope that she joins all of you at Dartmouth she really loves the school.

It's so true. I was waitlisted RD and yet I love Tufts to death. The school you belong at will be the one that accepts you b/c it recognizes your qualities. And, if it accepted you, it will have accepted people LIKE you. I was going to try transferring but I can't imagine leaving. Tufts is my home :-D and I'm sure you'll all find yours too. That said, I hope it'll be Dartmouth!

good luck to you all!! some1 i know is at dartmouth and he loves the school! i believe it's the same for you guys as you applied ED. - Pton EDer (more than a week to wait for us..)

another Pton EDer wishing you guys and gals best of luck. I applied last year as a senior and got rejected RD. Most probably I will be on this board a lot after january considering my vast amount of optimism of my Pton result :p because I'd be applying RD again to D.

Yeah, the letter's still there. It does matter... does the site not show up at all? I think there might be something about the internet/proxy/browser settings at school that doesn't allow you to visit the page. At my school I click the "check status HERE" and then it takes a while until a "504 Bad Gateway Error" site comes up. Annoying.

Best of luck to all early applicants! College admissions can be a very irrational, odd process, so don't worry too much, and don't despair regardless of circumstance. There are many fine colleges out there that will be sure to accept you, and which will not get in the way of any careers you might want. However, should you become Dartmouth '10s, you can expect to have a marvelous experience, an incredible four years, and to be at a place where you will find a true sense of belonging, a true sense of community. And, of course, there's the Salty Dog Rag.....
