Decision day is looming and we just want to wish you all GOOD LUCK!

My son has pretty competitive SAT (2340 from one sitting) /ACT (35) scores, solid GPAs and ECs etc. But he applied to the school of business, and we heard majority of applicants to the school of business will likely be deferred until February, thus we are very anxious.

GOOD Luck!

Oh wow I was thinking Dec 11th was next week ( well as far as UIUC admitting applications), more excited for all of the priority applications that you will be hearing this Friday at 5pm.

eek, I am COMPLETELY TERRIFIED.

…but thanks.

midwestDad, unless things have changed drastically in the last 3 years, or your son didn’t take the essay seriously, I’d be very surprised if he was deferred. My S’s ACT was ‘only’ a 31 and he was admitted to COB in December 2006.

Good luck!!!

Good luck to everyone!

I am hoping to get admission to the college of business too!
I didnt know that most students got defered until february though :/

Why do most students get deferred?

Let’s wish all of us GOOD LUCK on Friday!

The reality is most top students who will be admitted to school of business or other schools at U of I may have already been admitted to other big ten schools with scholarship. But the school of business for U of I is one of the best in the country, thus it is near and dear in our hearts. We hope and pray that U of I will not defer many top students to February, just for the sake of deferring, as many of them will be lured to many of U of I’s competitors.

Good luck to all!!!

Please let me know if they defer your son, so I can call UIUC and complain. That’s ridiculous. Considering his GPA and ECs are solid (as you have stated), he should be IN.
