Good Luck on Your Applications

Happy New Year!

Application deadlines are coming up soon. Check the deadlines of your favorite college, and make sure the application gets in on time. If you haven't lined up as many colleges to apply as you think will be safe, take a look at a list on the College Search & Selection Forum of some "outstanding" and "noteworthy" colleges that will help you round out your application list with some more "reaches," "matches," or even strong "safeties."

Some may have later admission application deadlines than others. Also check the financial aid deadlines for all your favorite colleges. The Financial Aid & Scholarships Forum

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/</a>

has many helpful threads about financial aid issues.

Once you've submitted everything, relax and enjoy the rest of your high school studies and activities. A large number of questions come up for applicants AFTER they apply--you can use the College Confidential search features

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/search.php%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/search.php</a>

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/faq.php#google%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/faq.php#google</a>

to look for previous threads in which your concerns have been discussed. News comes out from different colleges on different dates, but by the first week of April you should know results from all the colleges you have applied to. Compare offers--I hope you have more than one to choose from--and decide where to attend.

Waiting for admission news can be hard. Let's support and encourage one another during the waiting. If the forums get stressed out, review the Terms of Service

Good luck.

What does this have to do with UF?

Applications were due Nov 1st Cheif.

Well, then just consider it New Year greetings or a reminder about the Brand X college some UF applicants apply to. Have all of this year's applicants been notified of results?

The results will be posted Feb 15th.

yup he/she must be token

What's the usual "overlap" pattern for U of Florida applicants? In other words, where else are they usually applying?

i'm not sure why he's getting stupid comments for posting some over-all great college information.

thanks tokenadult

Well i would put UF in the same category as University of Illinois at Urbana and University of Texas at Austin in MY college list. Most FL applicants like to take advatage of Bright Futures Scholarship so they also apply to Florida State, FIT, etc.

tokenadult, my oldest Gator also applied to/was accepted at GaTech, VaTech, NCState, and Auburn (he wanted engineering and to stay relatively 'south'). My younger Gator applied to/accepted at UNC-CH, UVa, Emory, Willliam&Mary, Wake Forest (he wanted bio/premed). That's a sample of two.

Congratulations to your two Gators. Those are both good lists. I take it that they both decided to enroll at UF.
