Good luck to all and remember...

but a dream
is a multi-faceted truth,
beginning as a single raindrop,
and then, it builds.

as time passes,
and one grows more desperate,
desperate to resist reality from setting in,
that single raindrop falls into others.

that single raindrop clings to other dreams
and to excuses for dreams not yet attained,
until, one day, it hits the ground,
and it disperses.

but a dream
is a multi-faceted truth,
even when it disperses,
it is still there --
in the grass,
in the trees,
supplying life,
padding the ground beneath out feet.

I really like this.

IT's HARVARD LOL!

Multi-faceted truth? Raindrops dispersing? I agree with post #3...it's a college admission, not the destiny of your eternal soul!

I think you missed the message of the poem jimbob. It's saying that, ultimately, dreams live on and no single event, like a Harvard admissions decision, can deter them.

What's more, they are not comprised entirely of one event (college decisions). Instead, our dreams are multi-faceted and will prevail in an infinite number of forms.

The poem really makes today seem insignificant and reminds me of my love of writing-- which I'll be blessed enough to study no matter what school I attend.

^Nice, thanks for posting!
