Good luck to the class of 2012!

Finish packing, off to church and outta here - Good Luck everyone!
Ciao!

Leaving home around noon to be in Highland Falls around 4. Good luck to all and safe travels. See ya there!

All the pictures indicate that the skies are blue and this link says it's a very nice 80 degrees. Perfect for R-Day. Thunderstorms are predicted for later in the afternoon and evening. Here's hoping for an Oath Ceremony where all the family members can find their cadets.

Good luck to all! Yes, the tears will stop at some point.

Pictures of R-day:

Reception Day 2008

Ann,
Thanks for posting the photos. I don't want to sound dumb, but did that all happen today June 30, 2008?

Yes, it's all happened this morning. Last year, when I was sitting home doing the "Where's Walda" game, there ended up being several hundred pictures (if memory serves me) displayed on the first day with many more added the following day(s).

Stay tuned.

Wow - it must be that Army efficiency!

My D just returned from SLS. Last night she finally shared that she enjoyed her experience and that she plans to apply. No doubt I will be calling upon you and the other parents for advice and counsel.

i thought that they posted all of the pics at the end of the day, i think it is awsome that they post more pics as the day goes on. i will be checking on to look at more pics every hour!

I saw the one pic (I'm sure there are many) that has a girl carrying a duffle in front and another in back...I wonder how much each weighs?????? Any body have any guesses??????? Geez.

You can watch the oath ceremony live at 5:40pm:

United States Military Academy at West Point

I guess my computer is too slow...I can't really get it live.

me too neither and I thought my computer was relatively fast.

me too, it is not working on mine

It didn't seem to work for anyone. We may be able to watch it once it's posted as a recording.

From what little I saw, it looked like they had fair weather.

I heard it was technical difficulties on their end and we'll likely be able to see it eventually. My husband was there and filmed it - actually found ds in the group and the camera shows him well. Not only that, but there's a picture of him on the bus that would make any mother cry. While I know he's not having the time of his life, we're all relieved he made it through day one. husband did say that weather was sunny and hot.

"we're all relieved he made it through day one."

That's what it is all about - making it through one day at a time.....

With any luck, USMA will have a video link to the oath ceremony - pity there were glitches with the live feed.

i will keep checking the site, but when anyone does find a link, please post it on this page so i can find it. ;)

Keep checking United States Military Academy at West Point. It will most likely be posted along with the R-Day Photo Album.

Then later it will be posted under "2012" on the right side of the webpage.

The Oath is up. It is 34 minutes long and may take a while to load.
