Hey everyone -

I guess I’ve kind of been a lurker on this site for about a month. I’ve read a lot of your posts; it was interesting to get to know all of you, at least through CC.

I’ve definitely been freaking out this past week. People keep on reassuring me that no matter where I go, I’ll be successful. The undergrad college you go to won’t determine the rest of your life. You’re the only person who can do that. It has minimal effect, only truly affecting what grad school you go to, or the first job you get. I know because both of my parents went to school in China and I ended up in an upper middle class neighborhood near Boston. Who would have thought? It’s amazing that I live 10 miles away from Harvard/MIT, that I even have the opportunity to apply to Ivy Leagues.

It would be great to get into Penn ED, but it’d be great to get into any school regardless. As others have said - college decisions are arbitrary a lot of times - especially in a pool with such qualified applicants.

I think you’re all qualified to get into Penn. In fact, I know you all are. If I didn’t get in, at least it would be reassuring to know that my position was taken by someone as qualified as you guys are.

I’d wish you all good luck, but you probably don’t need it. Decisions are already made and I hope you all accept your decisions with grace tomorrow. With that said, I’m off to watch the OC. :)
