Good majors/minors for Pre-OT students

Hello,
I am a sophomore in college at UNF, and have decided that I want to become an occupational therapist. What are some good majors/minors for that? I'm pretty set on a major in psychology, but I would be willing to change it if something better suits my career path. Also, what are some good minors? I'm considering education and spanish, but I'm honestly not too sure. Also, will graduating with honors add a competitive edge to my MOT application? Any information on this or OT applications/acceptance in general would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again to anyone who can help me.

Kinesiology, anatomy/physiology, any kind of exercise/physical health program, psychology, or linguistics programs will often have a lot of overlap in the required courses for OT programs; psyc and ling have the added benefit of offering you alternative career paths like counselling, speech therapy, and audiology, should you change your mind later on. You could minor in any of the above subjects (if available), but Spanish or other subjects that will help you communicate with others (communications, other languages) or that will introduce you to other perspectives (sociology, cultural courses, anthropology) could also be beneficial. An honours degree is always a plus in applications, as is volunteering in the field and job shadowing. Make sure you know what courses are required by each university, as they may request specific courses at each one.

Good luck! :)

(I just realized I commented on both of your threads! :p)
