I have very good math scores. a 700 on the SAT, and a 33 on the ACT
but my reading scores are consistently low 530 on SAT, and 25 on ACT

I really want to major in enginnering at NYU, Boston U, Northeastern, ect. But im afraid they will not accept me because of my low Reading scores.

should I aim for a different school cause these are out of my range?

No chance of improving your CR scores?

Yeah, any reason you’re not taking it again? It sounds like you’re throwing in the towel. When your score is in that range, it’s not THAT hard to bring it up if you start doing some serious prep. There’s tons of suggestions all over the forums, so read up and get to work!

I am taking the ACT again but i have already retaken the SAT 3 times… and its not getting much better. even with prep. I am really just a slow reader and never get time to finish.

Dude, my CR scores are ridiculously all over the place. But I improved so much. My lowest was a 610 and this time I’m almost certain I received a score in the high 700’s. I’ve taken it quite a few times, as well. Like you, I’m a slow reader. In the past I have run out of time and had to omit a few questions. However, this time around I sped through the test and had time to go back and check my answers (which I find always helps me.) What I realized is that you can’t analyze every single sentence in the passages. Read them thoroughly, but remember your objective is to answer the questions.

It’s possible! Don’t give up! You just need to prepare a lot beginning 3 weeks before the test. And don’t neglect one section for another.

NYU doesn’t have an engineering school…
better get that straight before you try to apply there for engineering lol

correct NYU doesnt have an enginneeing school. but they have a dual degree program with polytechnic for engineering… my facts are straight.

NYU has a 5-year engineering program I think.
