good med schools

i'm a senior in high school now and am considering going into pre-med in coolege. what are some of the best pre-med schools?

The thread immediately above this one is titled "Good pre-med schools".

lol read the stickies lizziee..

going off the title of this thread...

given the fact that every medical school has a really really low acceptance rate, what makes a school "good"? does it come down to funding when comparing schools like harvard and a public school, or are there any other factors?

US News http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/med/brief/mdrrank_brief.php for example, ranks medical schools by peer assessments, residency director assessments, and research funding. There are some other dimensions listed in that chart, but I don't know if they're all used for ranking (or just informational purposes).

I feel that a good medical school for one student does not necessarily mean the same as a good medical school for another student. For example, I am not very interested in research, and I would like to get clinical experience right away in the first year. Therefore, a heavily-research based medical school or one that puts clinical experience off until the third year would not be "good" for me.

In order to find a "good" school for you, I recommend that you visit the schools, read the websites, or check out some sites like www.studentdoctor.net or www.mdapplicants.com. They will be good resources to see what the schools are like (curriculum, resources, activities, student life) and what sorts of students they want to see.
