Thank you all :)

anyone? (10 char)

Some of these schools don't even offer engineering. Why don't you filter the list for engineering. For example, Mt. Holyoke is a women's college. To study engineering there you would have to study at UMass-Amherst.

oops,
i want to go to berkeley as well but they don;'t give international scholarships
they say to look for "private scholarships" ... where can i find private scholarships?

Hmmm. Not sure where to look for private scholarships.

Since you are international, it may be difficult, if not impossible to get private scholarship.

Since you don't have any SAT scores yet, you would have to guess about mid-tier schools.

I dunno anything about international aid or scholarships but you might want to take a look at these engineering schools that aren't as hard to get in as MIT, Caltech, Stanford, etc:

University of Michigan
Purdue
Rose Hulman
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign
Georgia Tech
Northwestern
Carnegie Mellon

Go to the College Board site: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/index.jsp

You can actually search for engineering schools that give financial aid to international students with acceptance ranges >50%.

Peterson's and other college sites may also have similar search options.

Schools that are not hard to get into, are on your list, and have decent engineering are

Illinois Inst. of Tech
Univ. of Houston (chemical)
Rochester Inst. of Tech.
Tulane
