I now only have one college I am interested in going to (Slippery Rock University) because all my other schools apparently don't have good music education programs. Does anybody happen to know any schools with good music Ed programs in PA? If I need to I can look out of state, but I would prefer to stay in state. I did look into NYU a little and then laughed at myself but anyway if anybody has any suggestions of schools feel free to let me know!

I have known quite a few music education majors from PA who have attended James Madison University in VA. Obviously more expensive than going to an in-state school for you, but more reasonable tuition than most private schools, and a very good music ed. program.

What about Temple, Pitt or a Penn State campus? None of them have music ed?

West Chester is supposed to be good for music education, I hear. And Susquehanna also has a program - good merit aid there, even though it’s a private school.

Penn State main campus has an excellent reputation for Music Ed and is a very small music school for such a large campus.

Seconding West Chester for Music Ed!

You really should check out IUP - Indiana University of Pennsylvania for Music Ed.

Does anybody know about Messiah college’s music program? I was looking into that also.
