<p>The Gov has proposed a nice increase in the UW budget and Madison has passed Michigan in total research funding $850M to $800M.</p>

<p>It also appears that the University Foundation is close to launch a massive fundraising campaign in '07 (presumably to capitalize on recent successes of the athletics programs). The last campaign - Create the Future - raised about 1.9 billion to date. It "pays" to be an alum, doesn't it? :)</p>

<p>They must be planning something. I have had two Foundation reps stop by in the last month or so. Guess they are out taking the temperature for another big fundraiser. After the last few tough years the future is getting brighter.</p>
