Good news

The congresswoman's office called back today and said that they are working on my USMMA nomination and I shouldn't worry.

Woot woot!

great news Taffy.... so come to USMMA Then :)

also good news: my west point online candidate status updated. they finally recieved my december SAT scores, they got my nomination, and they recieved my 7th semester report card. I think I'm good to go now, for that. It doesn't say "Application Complete" or anything like that. How do I know I am ready to be reviewed?

Dang it Taff. I got all excited when I read your first post then I get down to the last one. You brought me from high to low in a nano second. LOL Kidding aside, I don't know specific WP dates for when they review. I would suspect that you'll have to cool your jets for a while as they've just now gotten all of your materials. Hang tight and don't be afraid to pick up the phone and call admissions with some questions. In fact, it probably would be good if you did. Even if its to ask if they've received everything they require. Couldn't hurt. I'd guess that you should have your nomination to USMMA very very soon.

taffy: Hurdle 335? Check! :)

I still think Taffy will end up at the CGA...just a feeling!

Taffy, go to USMMA and then go Green at graduation. You will get the best of both worlds

I got a phonecall from the congresswoman's office today saying i got the nomination (and also my nomination status changed today on the usmma website). I asked how many people got noms, he said he couldn't tell me to protect "the other applicants"... but just saying that tells me that im not alone, and half-answers my question :) does usmma do the principle nomination, too? cause he didn't say anything about that.

CONGRATULATIONS, taffy! - another step closer to Kings Point! Have you visited and stayed overnight? Highly recommended if you haven't.
I don't think nominations work the same way as USMA - the state has x number of total nominations, so you can get in with one (assuming you are qualified and pass DOMERB). My understanding is that they spread nominations around on a state-wide basis either 1 or 2 per district. Of course, NY, FL, NJ, CO, CA, and MD are the most competitive, but there are usually slots available.

If I get an appointment I'll visit.

Good answer...it's a long way from Cali to L.I.

well, it's all a matter of perspective~ flying from California to Laguardia might just prove faster than the drive from Laguardia to Kings Point during rush hour(s)!!! ;)

Taffy- you have been so "locked on" to USMMA for so long that I am surprised to hear you have not visited yet!

Taffy just has this Mrs. Robinson thing going on with JM.

LFWB Dad stealing my material again...

Naw. He's pretty mad at me these days. He disagreed with a few things I've said lately. He's still one of my favs tho. And even if he decides KP isn't for him, I guess I'll still like him ok in green. I so want to see him in SDBs. He has what it takes to do good things with any academy education. It fits him well I think. If he goes for a visit to USMMA, I hope he can get my son to shadow. He knows which nights they have the best food.

JM you are somewhat controversial these days...ha ha.

Did you make a Mrs. Robinson referrence at some point? Sorry, great minds think alike I guess. Are you coming down to the tournament tomorrow?

Yes LFWB correct on both of the first two counts...no unfortunately I can't make the meet but will try to look in on the "netcast." Good luck to all the guys that should be something.

If you go to the All-Academy wrestling tournament at KP, look out for Bryan Radik (149) and Devin Pomranky (165) from CGA. Both having big seasons.
