Good or bad idea?

I was researching about college application essays the other day and collegeboard.com suggested that I tell a story that conveys a certain characteristic about myself. Would it be a good or bad idea that I tell a story about a time where I hit someone's car before an interview but then went inside and came clean to the owner of the car?

Thanks

It sounds good to me. Congratulations on your strength and honesty! :)

How did the interview go? It would also be impressive if you were able, while perhaps still being nervous and upset after the accident, to have a solid interview.

I think it could be an unusual, out-of-the-box essay that shows a strength of character.

Ok great! I actually ended up getting the job. It was pretty difficult to pull it together because I was in tears when I got in there. But the interviewers (all THREE of them) were really understanding and made me laugh it off.

Congratulations on getting the job! Perhaps your last line could be something like:
