We're bringing my son and my niece for a visit next week. We'll be taking the train from Grand Central. I know Arthur Avenue is a short walk from the train station. Anybody got a good recommendation for lunch? Would love to sample some good local Italian food.

My son is a Fordham student. Metro North is a great way to get to campus. For lunch you can pretty much go anywhere on Arthur Ave. and enjoy good and relatively inexpensive food (just don’t go on Monday when the restaurants are closed). I’ve enjoyed Trattoria Zero Octo Nove, Michaelangelo’s, Ann & Tony’s…but I’m sure that many other restaurants are just as good. Hope you enjoy the visit to Fordham.

And if you live close enough, it is fun to do some food shopping on Arthur Avenue…fresh pasta and sauce at Borgattis, cheese at Casa del Mozzarella, pastries (many good choices)…

Thanks! We’ll definitely check out one of those places. I’ll probably show up for the admissions info session with spaghetti sauce on my shirt.

Arthur Avenue is fantastic. I went with my parents last week. We went to (I think it was called full moon) this amazing pizza place. It’s moon something, I’m not really sure but it’s not far and tastes phenomenal
