Good place to buy readers?

Is there a nice site or store to buy readers? The reader for psych 10 is $106. I think that's ridiculous.

there arent any options...its basically a monopoly. either the professor has them printed by the UCLA store, or course reader materials in westwood. thats it.

how do you know the price of the reader already?

I'm not sure if it's actually a reader, but it says Myers (New Low Price)
Mod Psychology (8th) (Pkg W/sci Amer Reader & Cd-r). Does the store at westwood have more sane prices?

just get together with a few ppl in the class and buy 1 reader. then copy one for each person in ur group and split the costs.

Nope. Reader prices are due to licensing fees, no way to get around it.

And yeah. Can only get them at the reader store, this one copy store in westwood, or at the bookstore, depending on where the professor ordered it. If it was mentioned on the booklist, it's available through the book store.

That's a ton of money for a reader. The most I've ever paid was $40.

Most professors will have a copy or two on reserve in the library, so that can be an option if you don't want to pay for the reader. It's a hassle, but much cheaper.

that's not a reader in the traditional sense if it shows up on the textbook site. that looks to be a textbook package.

Nah, I've had readers through the bookstore. It was the same as other readers, but it was printed through UCLA.

yeah me too, but they wont be listed on the textbook site. that description "Myers (New Low Price) Mod Psychology (8th) (Pkg W/sci Amer Reader & Cd-r)" is the description from the ucla textbook store website, and it will have an ISBN number if you do the whole ISBN trick thing. readers dont have ISBNs. and you usually wont even know if you need a reader until the first day of class.

Yeah, true.

That's no moon...
