I'll be visiting and would like some ideas as to where to eat. Looking for both lunch and dinner. Casual and nice preferred:)

Swift House Inn, Waybury Inn (about a 15-20 minute drive from campus, but well worth it), Fire & Ice, Storm Cafe for lunch. There are lots of other places that I’ll let others suggest.

We just visited last week- had dinner at American Flatbread at the Marbleworks in Middlebury. Very tasty, nice view of Otter Creek which was really pumping- JV

For lunch, we liked Noonies deli for great sandwiches. Otter creek bakery makes great cinnamon sticks and muffins, they also make sandwiches. Two Brothers tavern was a good casual place to go with the teens for lunch or dinner. Check middkid.com for suggestions. We have eaten at Waybury Inn twice, very nice, special place. Storm Cafe also nice place too. Can’t wait to go back!

I love Storm Cafe for a nice dinner. Local food, freshly prepared and delicious. It is a small restaurant so you might want to have reservations.
Waybury Inn - is a fun, cozy out of the way restaurant and bar
Sama’s Cafe & Middlebury Market- great lunch/coffee - a local favorite; walking distance to the school. Great sandwiches, soups, salads (I guess most are walking distance, except Waybury Inn)

A very good restaurant that is about 12 miles from Middlebury in Vergennes is the Black Sheep. Also about a dozen miles from Midd is Bristol, check out Mary’s Inn at Baldwin Creek; we had a great meal there.

For dinners - Favorite place for S to eat is Black Sheep (mentioned above). H&I actually enjoy the food and quaintness of the Middlebury Inn, especially so when you need not venture too far in any direction. And we all enjoyed Tourterelle (just up the road) very very much.

I have to say that Fire and Ice has a neat little vibe, but their food? Not so great for dinner, but maybe good for lunch? But there are lots of great places to grab a bite for lunch and H liked what he found himself noshing on at 51 Main mid-afternoon.

Yes, Moda, I agree with your second paragraph!

My daughter is a sophomore at Midd and enjoys Mister Up’s. Home
