Good places for lunch while visiting later this week?

I would love some suggestions for a good place for lunch within walking distance of campus. Thanks so much!

All these places are on Spring Street, the main street right off of camps: Pappa Charlies (a sandwich shop with somewhat limited seating), a Thai/Sushi place, an Indian place, Helen’s (a deli/sandwich/salad shop). A couple of these are closed on Mondays. Enjoy your visit.

We love Helen’s! It’s always packed but the service is good and the food is great.

When we visited we had lunch in one of the dining halls. Try this if you can as it adds dimension to the visit.

Go to the dining hall and eat with the students, and ask a few nosy questions. Meet a small and very random sampling of current students. See if these are people with whom your prospective applicant can live, learn, and grow.

I think this is far more important than the size of the Sage/Williams/Mission dorm rooms, number of volumes in the Schow Science library, when the Baxter library project will be completed. Though possibly not as important as what percentage of Williams students take a tutorial.

I very much like the multiple study areas and rooms in the hallways around the science library. A good example of how architecture encourages group study, student/student and student/prof interaction.

Hello to all,

I got back from taking my daughter to 1st days. We had lunch at Helen’s. Great place!!!

Also went to the SPICE ROOT, the Indian food.

As far as eating at the dining hall, the only place available was Mission, which seemed to be crowded all the time. But I ate at Paresky last spring and the food was great.

Congratulations!! commserver. We went this weekend, too. S drove me up in his car. H drove me home in his. (I can drive, and well. ) Since S just got his license a companion was good.

Quiche is good in Tunnel City. We usually go there if we’re with DD along for the ride because after four years in NYC she carries urban chic with her, and Tunnel City is more her cup of tea.

She is moving to Atlanta, so we’ll have more options in future.
