Good Political Science undergrad programs?

What are some American universities with good undergrad Political Science programs? This is what I want to study, but I haven't really been able to find a real ranking system for Political Science. Is it safe to assume that some DC area schools (American U, GW, George Mason) would have good Poli-Sci Programs?

As all are located in DC…the opportunity for internships will be greater due to accessibility. The same could be said for UVA, John Hopkins, and William and Mary. In checking Fiske: American lists Political Science as one of their strongest programs, but George Washington does not, and George Mason states “Government”. Georgetown also states “Government” rather than “Political Science”.
I hope this helps.

^^^^Notice that none of them are in the DC area?

Any top undergraduate program will suffice for a good political science education.

Perhaps, you might be interested in [Public Policy](http://www.batten.virginia.edu/) as a major.

While staple departments are often strong at top undergrad schools, you may be looking for safeties and matches.

Boston University is always good. :)

Also, be warned of USNew’s rankings for PolySci, Georgetown and GW aren’t on there because they have specialized programs for PolySci/IR, look at the SFS for example

Might want to take a look at Foreign Policy’s rankings’ They have undergrad, masters, and PH.d on the website: [The Best International Relations Master’s Programs | Foreign Policy](http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2012/01/03/top_ten_international_relations_masters_programs)

What level of selectivity are you looking for? What is your GPA and ACT/SAT score?

Obviuosly the top schools all have good government/Poli Sci type programs.

GULC, GW, American are all good Poli Sci programs with good connections due to their location (note that george Mason is not included on that list).

Boston College and Northeastern University are great, both with very experienced professors, even including Dukakis as a professor at Northeastern. I would disagree that Boston University has a good poli sci program. It isn’t exactly known for poli sci.
