I decided that because I love french ( but only have two years of study under my belt), I may want to go to one of these summer programs for highschoolers and take really intensive french classes.
I want to go somewhere or do something really interesting where you get a lot of freedom but are equally challenged academically so if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. thanksssss

take a look at Middlebury

Tufts offers a program for high school students at their beautiful Talloires campus in the French Alps. I went a couple of summer ago (for the college program) and had an AMAZING experience. The campus is a renovated 11th centure priory- absolutely mind blowing. Plus you get to stay with a host family, ce qui aidera votre francais beaucoup- je t'assure.

Good luck!

The process for the Talloires high school program is pretty competitive - you'd have to demonstrate your commitment to program's focus as it's not just a couple weeks in France for fun.

Look at Concordia College Language Villages. They are at camps in northern Minnesota and offer 4 week immersion programs that can earn high school credit. It is more like a summer camp so it might not be what you are looking for. But my son attended their 2 week programs for 3 summers and his teachers have always commented on how much more advanced he has become over the years compared to his peers.

The Tufts french program sounds amazing but the website says the application date was march 17... :(
