Hello all,

I am a junior in high school and i have been looking at colleges for a long time. However, my original first choice college (Boston University) may be a bit out of range based on my SAT scores and GPA. I am interested in being a Political Science major and would like to know a few good schools for an average student for Pre-Law. My GPA is around 3.7 and my SAT composite (CR+M) is 1090. Any suggestions?

Since your GPA is good, I’m sure you will be able to train your SAT up by application time. It’s just a good idea because it will open your options. 3.7/1300(1900) will get you in most places. I was 3.7/1490, I got into UVa and UofMich. Your GPA is not a problem.

Anyway, Are you in-state anywhere you like? Fin-aid?

Without extra information I will choose American U in DC, and George Mason in Virginia. Again, SAT will be the limiting factor.

The things that matter the most for law school admissions are your LSAT score and your gpa. So whatever school you attend make sure you get the highest gpa you can. Start preparing for the LSAT as soon as you can.

The LSAT is a very different exam than the “others.” I suggest you look into it early so that you know what you are in for.

You should look into the James Madison program at Michigan State.
