Good pre-med colleges

Can anyone name a few colleges known for their pre-med programs? I'm thinking of becoming a pediatrician

Washington University in St. Louis has a greatttt premed program

Any reputable private/public college

Johns Hopkins

Pre-med is basically the same everywhere. People assume that schools with good med schools (Johns Hopkins, Duke, etc) have great pre-med programs as well. There's really no such thing as a great pre-med program ... you should look for something more specific like which, if any, science you plan to major in and where that is the best.

"People assume that schools with good med schools (Johns Hopkins, Duke, etc) have great pre-med programs as well."

They, and other schools with linked med schools, tend to have very driven premed students. Sometimes so much so they drive themselves into the ground and their classmates up the wall.

I second Johns Hopkins.

Duke, Northwestern, Wash U are also comparable schools with excellent premed programs as well.

The best pre-med college is where you feel the most at home, the most comfortable, the most focused - and, more importantly, the place at which you can succeed.

JHU
Stanford
Duke
UPenn
Northwestern
Washington

in that order

William & Mary has the highest med school acceptance rate in VA.

JHU, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Duke, WashU, Penn, etc. Order is random.

How about GWU, in D.C.? My mother's cousins went there for premed, but I haven't had a chance to speak with them yet. They both got into med school, and are both surgeons. I know that doesn't have anything to do with me, but I suppose that if I consult with them, they'll tell me that premed is a strong program at GWU. Comments?

I heard from my friend who went to GW that its very easy to get As (had a 4.0) and people get drunk and party all the time. He transferred to Georgetown as a result. So...I'm not sure... Thats everything I know about GW. lol

Ugh. I don't like a big party school, though it's sort of hard to avoid.... How about BU? How does it compare to GWU in terms of premed, and the atmosphere? (Parties every night?) Don't want to get off-topic, so just a quick response please. Thanks.
