Good pre-med programs

I know my stats are disgusting and I fail at life and I should go to a community college. Now that that's out of the way.

3.5 UW GPA is my estimate
1800 SAT (take that as a lower estimate, but what u base college selection off)
lets say 500m 650v 650w

Tuition not issue.
Out of New York State, or at least out of New York City.
Wants to avoid public schools like the plague - especially SUNY and Rutgers

It is my dream to become a doctor and will go almost anywhere I can get in with these stats that can give me a good education in my intended major (Biology-heard its best for MCAT etc.) and will help me get into medical school.

I am not a prestige whore, colleges that are not well known are welcome too.

I am Catholic so don't cross off Catholic schools because they are too conservative - but I have no problem attending a mostly Protestant or Jewish school. (Catholics aren't as racist as most people think.)

Fire away guys, give me some safeties - matches - and reaches.

Please don't tell me to just study harder to get 2000 SAT so I can go to better colleges, I worked myself up from 1400 estimate that my PSATs gave me, and I just wish to work hard in college and get to med school and leave all this high school garbage behind.

Thanks for all of the help,
Justin (Mike's friend)

wash u in saint louis would be a reach definately, but they have an outstanding pre med program

i wouldnt make that place ever, lol. im looking for ones that I stand a chance of getting into.

You may want to check out the University of San Diego (USD) and Santa Clara University if attending a west coast school appeals to you.

University of San Diego seems cool - it is good for pre-med? I like that it is a private school and probably great weather there. Is there a lot of crime there or is that a safer area of California?

Here’s what is found under the “University of San Diego Students Say about Academics” section on the Princeton Review website:

‘. . . USD also offers solid, popular programs in communications, psychology, nursing, and education. Smaller departments like engineering and the sciences earn praise, too, the latter which benefits from "a great facility with brand-new labs."’

Is there any non-religious form of USD?

What you mean like a similar school Sonoma?

Yeah except no religious affiliation.

How about Loyola in Chicago? Loyola University there has a medical school and hospital center.

Thanks OneMom that seems like a school I can actually make with my stats and having a medical school and stuff definitely helps.

My list so far

Reach:
None

Match:
Drexel ( gotta get my sats up for this school I think )
Loyola Chicago

Safeties:
None

I was considering Drexel too.

Does Drexel still continue its BA or BS/MD Program?

slight reach for:
Boston University
George Washington University

drexel does the combined degree program, my stats arent good enough for it though so ill just hope to do good in college, they have an early assurance at their med school based on your college performance so ill rely on that to get me in

What do you mean by early assurance?

Oh and another question..how many IB/AP's have you taken?

I'm on course for about 3-4 and I'm expecting a 3.1-3.4 GPA with a 1800+ on SAT's.

Are we kind of similar?

me=no aps or honors 3.5-3.7 UW GPA

bump

pre med? go for VCU

also 1800-1900 SAT range.

does virginia commonwealth have the early assurance program?
