good pre-nursing schools

I was wondering if anybody knows any schools that are known for there pre-nursing department. Or schools that have a good pre-nursing program??

There are quite a few I could recommend BUT it would help if you gave me an idea of your stats (grades, test scores) and any preferences you have in terms of location, size of school, need for financial aid, etc.

UConn's medical/pre-medical program is excellent.

Ok, what do you mean by pre-nursing? Do you mean that you want to go 4 years undergrad and THEN do nursing school, or do you mean the first 2 years of college? Nurses who earn BSNs (which are 4 year nursing degrees) usually go to a college for 2 years of liberal arts + req's and then apply to the nursing school. For instance, if you attend UNC Chapel Hill, you go 2 years undergrad and during your second year you have to apply for UNC's nursing school. Nursing school is usually not graduate school. I'm sorry if you already knew this! I just learned a lot of this at a nursing program I went to because I thought I wanted to be a nurse, so I thought I'd share. As for nursing schools, there are a lot of good ones and to be completely truthful, what school you go to has no effect in the nursing world. I thought that it would but as a matter of fact, the hospitals said that as long as you have a nursing degree, they don't care where it's from. My advice: pick a school with really updated technology. UNC has a simulated person called STAN that is really neat and they can make things happen to them and the nurses have to figure out what's wrong with him. Also, a lot of the hospitals that talked at the program I went to are giving sign on bonuses OR will even pay for your school if you sign a contract that you will work for them after you graduate. I know that REX & Chapel Hill give you a 15K sign on bonus to reimburse you for some of your schooling. Good deal, huh!?

OK, so this is extremely long and very poorly organized, but hopefully I told you something you were looking for.

Yeah we need info, there are good programs ranging from Ivies to HBCUs (Xavier specifically)... your preferences are what matter.
