Good Pre-Veterinary Colleges?

Hey guys, i'm relatively new to cc and the whole college application jargon-fest (Just an academically oblivious junior in highschool). I've been looking into colleges that have pre-vet programs, such as Purdue and even Cornell, but i couldn't get a good opinion on which ones to apply.

Is there a "model" school that most future vets apply to, or are there colleges that provide really nice programs in this field? Also, if i am applying for vet school in the future, would the officers look strictly at vet-related majors, or should i chose something broader such as general biology?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Nearly any academically challenging school that also has a strong Animal Science department and major would be s solid choice. Most land grant universities would fit that bill. In CA it would be UC Davis and also the Cal Polys.

Of the schools you mention Cornell is the more prestigious, but either Purdue or Cornell could work very well for you. Your success will depend much more on your college grades and your work experience caring for animals that it will on the choice between those two colleges.
