I would like to know a good SAT prep book for the writing section (not the essay!)

A thorough detailed explanation of grammar rules/mistakes

Tips on how to tackle SAT writing section for improving sentences/paragraphs

Lots of examples with lots of explanations

Is there a book for this? I DON'T want the sparknotes online stuff, because I wont have access to a computer this summer (unless they have a book for that I don't know about)

Or am I wasting my time and the big blue CollegeBoard book is enough for the things aforementioned above? I know its great for pratice questions and how it correlates to the SAT but I think thats it. (the explanations are online I believe, and i wont havea computer and i dont think it goes over tips or the grammar rules)

Just to reiterate:

I know some are going to say sparknotes or Silverturtle’s Guide, but again, I’m not going to have access to computer/internet over the summer so I need a way of advice other than the bluebook

For people who got at least high 600s or low 700s, did you use any books for grammar that you found helpful?

Hm, I guess some people don’t know a good book for grammar (as obviously i wont have online resources this summer) that doesn’t include online stuff

Bummer.

I read some archives and ‘The Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar’ was very popular. Anyone have some experience with this or any other grammar book? C’mon, people have to have some sort of experience with this outside of the grammar assistance already here at CC

just bought Gruber’s writing workbook… i heard its a lot of help…
