im a high school student in california and i know i want to be a pharmacist. im planning to apply university of the pacific because its accelerated program but because its so competative to get in, i am also in search of universities in california that have a good prepharmacy program. can i get the prepharm requirements anywhere? where are the best ones?

You'll find the answers to all of your questions and more at the American Colleges of Pharmacy site: http://www.aacp.org/site/page.asp?TRACKID=&VID=1&CID=687&DID=4741

In particular, read the Student FAQs link.

The bottom line is you do not need to major in "prepharm" or attend a college with a pharmacy grad program, but you will need a strong undergraduate chemistry coursework. Some suggestions in california: Most of the UC's, Harvey Mudd, Occidental, the University of San Diego, Santa Clara University, and some of the Cal STates.

You may want to PM a poster called Wolfpiper who is in her freshman year of a pharm. program.

Good luck!
