What do you guys think would be a good priority # for the new dorms? I know there are 862 beds. Also I’d guess many people would be gunning for the honors dorms. Do you think a number in the 1200s would suffice?
Keep in mind there’s lots of factors. 1200 or so isn’t bad. The new dorms won’t be everyone’s first pick. And naturally, a lot of people in front of you will forget to turn in some part of the application (usually payment), or they don’t attend FSU at all.
While it’s not 100% that you would get one of the new buildings, I think 1200 should be a very good number towards getting one of them. If not, they’re just a slightly-altered Wildwood, which is only about 8 years old. I know it doesn’t come with the “first person to live here” thing, but…
Are the new dorms definitely going to be finished before August? I haven’t been able to find much information on them. I was able to get priority #29 for my son yesterday. We haven’t been able to visit yet, so he doesn’t really know what to put on his list.
My son got 1090…I agree with Pasbal…many people in front of you will drop of the list.
Uh oh. We got 1779!
@Pasbal Thank you so much. If people drop off for whatever reason does your priority number lower, or are those changes unknown to students? @Minnie17 Yes, from what I’ve heard they’re opening for Fall 2015, and anything near landis green is nice
It may have changed since I applied, but when I originally applied my housing number was almost 600. The next year the paperwork had my priority number at just over 500- a change of almost 80 spots. That’s the only evidence I have for them actually changing it in the system. Of course, if you live on campus multiple years, you will not use your priority number the following years, so you wouldn’t necessarily know anymore.
The buildings are basically finished as it is. If they don’t open in August, there’s a major issue somewhere.
Which are the new buildings?
@saismom The buildings being rebuilt and opening Fall 2015 are Dorman and Deviney.
