Good Professor vs. Good Time

I've frequently been moving around my planner due to classes filling up and got curious about other people's input on this haha (: one of my classes is at the most ideal time that fills up all the unfavorable 1 hour gaps in my schedule, but it's taught by Czworkowski who has intimidating reviews on ratemyprofessor.com.
so if you had to pick between the two, would you rather have the best time slot ever or the best professor ever?

Johnson…Do it.

I would pick better professor. I mean, you ARE paying for this. Might as well get your money’s worth!

Always take the best professor, no matter what time of the day it is.

oh wow, thanks guys haha. I only chose Czworkowski because he had the smallest waitlist (I’m sure you’ve all heard of the CHEM6A chaos by now)

@ GracedPresence is Johnson that much better than Czworkowski?

yes! dr. Johnson is my all-time favorite person in the department, and I was there for five years. :)

^thanks for the reassurance! I’ll waitlist her then (:

so you guys are saying go for the longer wait list for johnson? i mean at this point that seems like the best idea since i think they’re opening up more spots soon.

Yeah, since they’re going to open more spots anyways, you might as well waitlist yourself for a good professor.

What do you think of Sailor?

Sailor was the first professor to have his classes fill up, so I’m guessing he has to be somewhat decent.

When do you think they’re going to open up more spots?

Should I drop my guaranteed seat in one of Czworkowski’s classes and join a waitlist for Johnson?
Can I assume that I cannot keep my current class while waitlisting for another/ better?

Sorry, just another nervous insecure freshman…

^You can’t enroll in two different lectures/discussions of the same class. What you can do though is keep checking if they open up spots in Johnson’s class and switch if they do. Anyway, I think it’s pretty obvious that everybody prefers a good professor over a good time, but be careful what you believe on ratemyporfessors.com. I personally use it and think it’s a good site, but you have to know what stuff could be somebody who is just mad because they didn’t study for their final and what is actually a fair evaluation. I’d say the CAPE evaluations are usually pretty good because the whole class uses it and you don’t get the small sample size like ratemyprofessors. I’m going to ask Czworkowski why everybody’s hatin’ on him though. =P

Alright, thanks. So, should I check in just the morning or multiple times a day? And tritonlink’s databases are down for maintenance…

@caseyklein17 Sailor has shining reviews on ratemyprofessor, and his class filled up first + has the biggest waitlist. I don’t know if I’d take the risk being so far on the waitlist for him though … it would really help if the chem dept could let us know what sections were getting more space :/
