Okay, so on the site it says that JHU doesnt give need-based financial aid to international transfer students... But does it give merit-based aid to international transfer students? Are there scholarships and such?

JHU gives very few merit scholarships, and I’m not aware of any available to transfer students. If you need merit aid I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

I think international transfers are out of luck, as the one merit award goes to incoming freshmen.

No financial assistance, including merit aid, is available to international transfer applicants.

whoa… talk about encouragement. Oh well… outside scholarships for internationals, maybe?

I’d recommend checking out the financial aid forum for non-school-specific scholarship info, or for schools that do offer aid to international transfers. HYP etc. give out no merit scholarships. Hopkins gives out very few. That’s just the way it is at top universities - they don’t need to give out a lot of merit aid to attract talented students, so they don’t do it. I’m not trying to be discouraging. Being an international student is complicated, and it must be pretty stressful for you, but unfortunately JHU can’t do much to help financially.

^Yeah, I get that. Im applying to some ivies but its still TRANSFER… SOOOO… I also had a pretty bad high school career… college is going to be VERY different, I’ll see to that… sooo yeah… for JHU, Duke, and Uchic, I plan on looking for outside scholarships.
