Good Range of Schools to Apply to (Engineering)

Hi everyone,

I recently graduated in May with a BSME, and am getting ready to apply for graduate school. The reason for me taking a "gap year" is because of family issues. But luckily, I was able to find an engineering job in my hometown to gain some experience. By spring next year, I will be able to continue pursuing my graduate studies goals, so that is why I am starting to apply now.

I am mostly interested in masters programs, especially Masters of Engineering (vs MS).

I do have a lower GPA for applying to graduate school, and was wondering if people can suggest the range of schools I should apply to. I am most interested in Berkeley's Masters of Engineering, as it fits with my goals the best. Here is just a brief rundown of my stats:

GPA: 3.466 (major ~ 3.6)

Research experience: 1 semester in 2 labs, 2 years in one, no publications (but may be possible by the time of deadlines)

LORs: 1 very strong, and 2 relatively strong anticipated (still waiting to hear back)

I am not trying to create a "chance" thread, but just would like to know realistically what programs I should apply for.

Any help would be great!

You have a pretty good GPA but you don’t list your GRE scores. You have a good chance at selective programs for a Master of Engineering ( you will be expected to self-fund the studies, of course). The fact tat you have a year of experience as an engineer is good too. Just look for programs that interest you and apply.
