3.55 unweighted GPA not sure what weighted is, school doesn't report it. Unknown class rank as that is also unreported. 1760 PSAT, taking SAT in May. 2 AP's at the end of Junior year, and 1 or two more during senior year. EC's are Varsity Alpine Skiing and Varsity Tennis for all years in high school. Also have a part time job 15-20 hours a week. Out of State (New Hampshire)

Hoping to Oceanography

I would think your chances are good. If you do well on the SAT, you should be in.
Your intended major is not a super popular one so that is in your favor. Cuts down on the competition. NCSU prob. doesn’t get many apps fr. NH either :)

These are schools you might want to consider as well.

Univ or Rhode Island: [URI Marine Biology Program](http://www.uri.edu/cels/bio/marbio/mbio_FAQ.html)
UNC Wilmington: [Physics & Physical Oceanography: UNCW](Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography | UNCW)

Thank you for the advice Packmom and Daredevil31. I have been looking at other programs on the east coast, and I am very interested in UNCW, but when I talked to the admissions rep from URI at my school’s college fair I was immediately turned off by the school.

^ Why? I visited UNCW while I was vacationing at the beach, and it seems like a nice place. Veeeery small town, but the campus is beautiful. Shows like the Hills and stuff film there a lot. Can’t complain about the location, in terms of… well, the beach.

lizziedoll, if you read turtlegirl’s post, it states that she IS interested in UNCW but not RPI after talking to an admissions rep. from RPI at her school’s college fair.
