Every top college would be a good reach school for you. I have no idea what you want to study or anything, but with your stats, you should try for the highest.

Look into Northwestern, USC (more of a merit aid match), and UPenn.

I wouldn’t let the presence or absence of a journalism or business major deter you from looking into some of the Ivies or peer schools as many have outstanding connections to certain employers, and numerous opportunities to engage in journalistic pursuits.

Even though you asked for reaches, I’m still going to throw out a recommendation to my school, the University of Oklahoma, as a possible financial safety. It has decent to excellent programs in all of the fields you’re interested in, and loves NMFs.

Thanks for the responses so far, everyone. Cost shouldn’t be a problem, and I’m looking for a school either in an urban center or with close access to one

If cost is not an issue, plug in your stats and majors and see which schools come up. Do a google search for “best journalism schools” and see what comes up. Find someone working at a place you’d like to work for and ask them what schools they recommend. Where do they hire from?

I’m not up on which schools have journalism (except Syracuse comes to mind - not sure why - possibly from a student going there in the past years), or I’d offer suggestions. With stats like yours, and cost not an issue, do some searching and apply where you’d like. As long as you have a couple of safeties, you’re set.

I’m definitely applying to Northwestern, UNC, and uPenn. While my focus is business, are there schools that are very strong in all other areas too? I would classify myself as a well rounded student, and I know that the Ivies are good at being strong in most subjects, but are these as well?
